Product details

The Hayward SP0710X62 is the Vari-Flo side mount multiport valve for the Pro Series S210S, S244S and S310S sand filters, sold with a side mount pressure gauge. It has 1.5 in. plumbing ports and a 6 in. centerline between the valve ports that connect to the filter tank, with 3-1/2 in. inside between the pipes at the ends.

Confirming fit

This valve fits only the three side mount Pro Series models listed. The easiest check is on the old valve: SP710XA-13 is stamped into the body just below the pump port, and patent number 3640310 is stamped into the lid. Measure the port centerline as well. If the filter is plumbed in 2 in., the correct valve is the SP0715X62, the 2 in. version of the same design.

What it does

The Vari-Flo lever selects filter, backwash, rinse, waste, recirculate, closed and winter, so backwashing and vacuuming to waste are a matter of shutting the pump off and turning the handle. The included gauge threads into the side of the valve and is the reference for when a backwash is due.

Which Hayward filters does it fit?
The Pro Series side mount sand filters S210S, S244S and S310S. It is not for the top mount filters, which use a different valve.
How do I check that my old valve matches?
Look for SP710XA-13 stamped into the body below the pump port and patent number 3640310 in the lid, and measure the port centerline, which should be 6 in.
Is the pressure gauge included?
Yes. The kit is the multiport valve plus a side mount pressure gauge.
My filter is plumbed in 2 in. Is there a version for that?
Yes. The 2 in. version of this valve is the Hayward SP0715X62.
