Hayward Genuine OEM SP1082 Skimmer Basket

The Hayward SPX1082CA is the genuine replacement basket for Hayward SP1082, SP1083, SP1084 and SP1085 in-ground skimmers. It sits in the skimmer throat and catches leaves, bugs and grit before they reach the pump strainer.

Shape and size

The basket is cylindrical from top to bottom, 7 in. across the top outside, 6-1/2 in. across the bottom outside and 5 in. tall. A lip at the top makes the rim slightly wider than the body and holds the basket at the right height in the skimmer. If you are unsure of your skimmer model, those three measurements against your old basket are the quickest way to confirm the fit.

Why replace it

Skimmer baskets crack at the rim and split along the mesh after a few seasons of sun and handling. A cracked basket lets debris through to the pump basket and, eventually, the impeller. Swapping in a new one takes seconds and needs no tools.
