The Hayward SP11071 is the skim vac plate with elbow for SP1089 series skimmers. It is the genuine Hayward part, and the plate measures 7.25 inches across.
How it works
The plate drops into the skimmer and sits over the basket. Connect the vacuum hose to the 1.5 inch elbow on the plate and vacuum the pool from there. Everything you pick up lands in the skimmer basket, which takes seconds to lift and empty, instead of travelling on to the pump strainer.
Why the elbow matters
Without it, the hose leaves the plate vertically and has to bend hard at the skimmer lip, which is exactly where vacuum hoses kink and lose suction. The elbow puts that turn into rigid plastic instead of flexible hose.
