Product details

The Hayward SP11041 is a skim vac plate supplied with its elbow. It measures 6 inches in diameter and is molded in plastic.

How it is used

The plate drops into the skimmer and seats over the basket, closing off the skimmer throat. The vacuum hose connects to the elbow on top. From that point every bit of suction the pump makes goes down the hose to the vacuum head, and everything picked up off the floor is caught by the skimmer basket on its way past.

Why it beats vacuuming at the pump

The alternative is running the hose to the suction port and letting the debris travel to the pump strainer. That works, but emptying it means shutting down, opening the pot and priming again. With a skim vac you lift the basket, dump it, and carry on.

How does a skim vac work?
It drops into the skimmer on top of the basket and seals off the skimmer opening. The vacuum hose connects to the elbow, so all the suction goes to the vacuum head and everything you pick up lands in the skimmer basket.
Is the elbow included?
Yes. The plate is supplied with the elbow.
What size is it?
6 inches in diameter.
Why vacuum through the skimmer instead of the pump pot?
Debris collects in the skimmer basket, which you can lift out and empty in seconds without shutting down and opening the pump.
