The Aquador 1090 is a skimmer winterizing plate kit, a replacement face plate and a snap on cover for Hayward SP1090 skimmers.
How it works
The Aquador face plate goes on once, in place of the original, using a phillips head screwdriver. From then on, closing the pool means snapping the freeze proof plastic cover onto that plate. The skimmer is sealed off and ice can no longer work on the throat over the winter.
Why it saves money
The usual way to protect a skimmer is to drop the water level below it, then bring it back up in the spring. That costs water, time and chemistry every year. With the skimmer covered, the water can stay where it is.
What is in the kit
The face plate measures 8-1/4 inches wide by 8 inches high, with an inner opening of 5-7/8 by 5-1/2 inches. Gaskets and screws are not included, so plan to reuse the ones you have or buy them separately.
