Product details

The Hayward SPX1039Z1A is a set of four self tapping face plate screws, listed for the Hayward SP1048 and SP1047. It is the genuine Hayward hardware.

Small part, real job

The face plate screws are what clamp the plate and its gasket against the liner or wall. If one is missing, seized or snapped off, the plate does not pull down evenly and the seal at that corner starts to weep. On a vinyl pool that leak works on the liner behind the plate.

Why the right screw matters

These are self tapping, sized to the boss they thread into. A substitute of the wrong diameter or length either strips the plastic or bottoms out before the plate is tight, so it is worth using the Hayward set rather than whatever is in the toolbox.
