Product details

The Hayward SP1085F is the snap on face plate cover for the SP1085 skimmer. It measures 18-1/2 inches by 8-7/8 inches and is molded in plastic, matching the original part.

What it does

The face plate covers the front of the skimmer where it meets the pool wall. It hides the flange, gives the opening a clean finished edge and protects the joint underneath. None of that matters until the plate is cracked or missing, at which point the skimmer looks unfinished and the edge is exposed.

Fitting it

It snaps into place, so there is no hardware and no draining. Measure your old plate first: Hayward built several skimmer families and the face plates are not interchangeable between them.

Which skimmer does this fit?
The Hayward SP1085 skimmer. Measure your existing plate against 18-1/2 inches by 8-7/8 inches before ordering, because face plates vary between skimmer models.
Does it need screws?
No. It is the snap on style face plate, so it clips into place over the front of the skimmer.
Is this the whole skimmer?
No. This is the face plate cover only. The skimmer body, basket, weir and lid are separate parts.
Why do these break?
Sun makes the plastic chalky and brittle over the years, and once it has gone that way a knock or someone standing near the skimmer is enough to crack it.
