SkimPro Skimmer Basket with Vented Tower for Hayward 1080 Skimmers

The SkimPro SP-HP-1080 is a replacement skimmer basket for the Hayward 1080 series of in-ground skimmers, the ones with two large tabs inside the throat that secure the lid. It replaces the flat standard basket with a basket that carries a patented vented tower and a handle.

Why the tower

A standard basket packed with leaves blocks the skimmer and starves the pump. The SkimPro tower has vents above the debris line, so water keeps circulating through the skimmer even when the basket is full. That protects the pump motor from running dry and keeps water moving instead of stagnating where algae can take hold.

Easier to service

The handle sits at the top of the tower, above the water, so you lift the basket out from the deck without reaching into the skimmer.

Fit

The basket measures 7-5/16 in. across the top, 5-5/8 in. across the bottom and 6-1/8 in. tall, and stands 12-7/8 in. from the base to the top of the tower. Other SkimPro baskets fit the Hayward SP1070 series and Baker Hydro skimmers; confirm you have the 1080 before ordering.
