Product details

The Pentair 85014500 is the tapered skimmer basket with a round weighted handle for Admiral S20 in-ground skimmers. It measures 8-3/8 in across the top, tapers to 5-1/4 in at the bottom and stands 6 in tall.

Why the basket matters

The skimmer basket is the first thing in the water path, and it is the only part standing between a pool full of leaves and the pump. A cracked or missing basket sends that debris straight to the pump strainer and, eventually, to the impeller. Baskets are consumable: sun makes the plastic brittle, and a hard freeze or a boot in the skimmer finishes the job.

Fit and handle

The taper is what makes it seat securely in the skimmer throat, and the round weighted handle holds it down when the pump shuts off and water surges back into the body. Admiral S20 skimmers use a reinforced PVC twin port base and are offered with a flap or a circular weir, with some versions carrying an equalizer port for commercial or NSF work. This basket is the Pentair part for all of them.
