This is the CMP 27180-152-000 skimmer basket, a generic replacement for the Hayward SP1082CA. It fits the Hayward 1082, 1083, 1084 and 1085 model skimmers, and is also referenced under the number B-152.

Shape and size

The basket is cylindrical from top to bottom, with a lip at the rim that makes it slightly wider at the top than at the base. The source data carries two sets of measurements for it. One gives a 7 inch top, 5 inch height and 6-1/2 inch bottom. The other gives 7-3/8 inch top, 5-1/8 inch height and 6-5/8 inch bottom. Both are listed in the specifications so you can measure your old basket against them.

Generic, and what that means

This is a CMP made basket rather than the Hayward original. It substitutes for the OEM part in the same skimmers, but the color and the handle style may vary from what came out. If matching the original exactly matters to you, the genuine Hayward basket is sold separately.

Why baskets get replaced

Skimmer baskets live in sun and chlorinated water and go brittle over a few seasons. Once one cracks, leaves and grit pass straight through to the pump basket and then the impeller, so a split basket is worth changing as soon as it shows.
