Product details

The CMP Next Gen DEL AOP 25 is a full flow advanced oxidation sanitizer for residential pools up to 25,000 gallons. It runs a corona discharge ozone cell and a high output UV-C lamp in a single cabinet, and the two together generate hydroxyls in the primary circulation line. That oxidation destroys viruses and bacteria including Giardia, E. coli and Cryptosporidium, and it breaks apart the chloramines that cause chlorine smell, itching and red eyes.

Less chlorine, clearer water

Because the AOP process does so much of the oxidizing, the chlorine required to hold a safe residual drops. Contaminants are destroyed rather than left for the filter, so filtration works better and the water polishes up. It is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 50 as a supplemental sanitizer and is UL and cUL listed.

What is in the cabinet

One APG2 ozone cell rated at 215 mg/hr, a low pressure high output UV-C germicidal lamp at 254 nm rated for 16,000 hours, and a high flow UV-C chamber. Sensors monitor both the UV-C and ozone subsystems. The wiring path and terminal block are easy to reach, the cabinet is a CSA/NEMA 3 enclosure suitable for indoor or outdoor installation, and there is a built-in drain for winterization.

Installation

Inlet and outlet are 2 in. PVC unions and the optimal flow rate is 30 GPM. It mounts on the floor or a wall, measures 24 1/4 in. high by 12 1/2 in. wide by 13 3/8 in. deep, weighs 40 lb dry, and runs on 110/240 VAC at 50/60 Hz drawing 0.7 amps. It is compatible with variable speed pumps.

Does this replace chlorine?
No. It is certified as an NSF/ANSI 50 supplemental sanitizer. It oxidizes contaminants and breaks down chloramines so you need less chlorine to hold a safe residual, but a residual is still required.
What size pool does it cover?
Residential pools up to 25,000 gallons. For pools up to 40,000 gallons, CMP makes the DEL AOP 40 in the same Next Gen design.
What power does it need?
110/240 VAC at 50/60 Hz, drawing 0.7 amps, so it runs on either common pool pad supply.
How is it plumbed?
Inline in the main circulation with the 2 in. PVC unions on the inlet and outlet. Optimal flow is 30 GPM, it is compatible with variable speed pumps, and a built-in drain makes winterizing simple.
