Product details

The Ultra UV2 is Paramount's ultraviolet pool sanitizer, now sold under Hayward. This is the two lamp 230 volt version, part 004422202600.

How it works

Water circulates through the Ultra UV2 chamber and passes a UV-C lamp, which inactivates 99.9% of micro-organisms on the way through. That includes crypto, giardia and algae, which are the ones chlorine struggles with. Nothing is added to the water to do this, so there are no harmful by-products left behind.

What it does to your chemistry

UV is not a replacement for a sanitizer residual, and Paramount does not claim it is. What it does is take most of the load off the chlorine, so the amount needed to hold an adequate residual drops dramatically. The result is a cleaner, clearer pool that smells and feels less chemical.

Fitting it

The Ultra UV2 is listed for new or existing pools, so it can be added to a system that is already running. This unit needs a 230 volt supply.
