Product details

The DEL Ozone 50, CMP part EC-20, is an ozone generator for pools from 15,000 to 50,000 gallons. It uses DEL Advanced Plasma Gap technology, and it was previously sold as the Eclipse 20 before CMP brought the DEL Ozone range into its own line.

What ozone does

Ozone is three oxygen atoms rather than the two we breathe, and the third is weakly bound. That loose atom breaks away and oxidizes what it meets, which is how ozone deals with pathogens, microorganisms and both organic and inorganic contaminants in the water. CMP rates the system to destroy 99.9 percent of viruses and bacteria, to reduce chemical requirements by 60 to 90 percent, and to remove eye and skin irritants from the water.

How it fits into the system

The generator is wall mounted at the equipment pad and connects to the pool timer. Ozone is injected into the return line after the filter and heater through an injector manifold, which is a separate item. An MDV mixing degas vessel kit is also available separately for installations where you want to be certain no ozone bubbles reach the pool.

Specifications worth checking

The unit runs on 120 or 240 volts at 50 or 60Hz, drawing 0.2 amps and 24 watts. Ozone output is 0.5 grams per hour with an air flow of 15 scfh. Is this the same as the Eclipse 20?
Yes. CMP acquired DEL Ozone and brought the range into the CMP line, and this system was previously sold as the Eclipse 20. The labelling may look different to what you remember.
Does it replace chlorine?
No. Ozone works with a residual sanitizer rather than instead of one. CMP rates the system to reduce chemical requirements by 60 to 90 percent, not to eliminate them.
What else do I need to install it?
