Product details

The Paramount Ultra UV2 adds a layer of sanitation that chlorine and salt chlorine generators cannot provide on their own. Pool water circulates through the chamber, where two UV-C lamps inactivate 99.9% of micro-organisms, including cryptosporidium, giardia and algae that resist chlorine. There are no harmful by-products, and because UV takes on the hard cases, the pool needs noticeably less chlorine to hold an adequate residual. A minimum residual of chlorine or bromine should still be maintained at all times.

Installation and operation

Multi-directional, quick release piping connections make the unit straightforward to plumb into a new build or an existing pad. Operation is automatic: a pressure switch senses flow and lights the lamps whenever the pump is running. A 360 degree direct view indicating ring shows at a glance that the unit is on.

Built for the equipment pad

The housing is 100% corrosion resistant, and the system carries a two year limited warranty. This is the 120V, two lamp model, part number 004-422-2022-00.

Does the Ultra UV2 replace chlorine?
No. It is a secondary sanitizer that handles the organisms chlorine struggles with and lets you run a lower residual, but a minimum level of chlorine or bromine must be maintained at all times.
What does it actually kill?
Water passing through the chamber is exposed to UV-C light that inactivates 99.9% of micro-organisms, including cryptosporidium, giardia and algae that are resistant to chlorine, with no chemical by-products.
How does it know when to run?
A pressure switch senses water flow through the unit and switches the lamps on with the pump. When flow stops, the lamps shut off.
Can it be added to an existing pool?
Yes. The multi-directional quick release piping connections are designed for both new construction and retrofits onto existing equipment pads.
