Product details

The Clear Blue Mineral Lion is a mineral ionizer for pools up to 40,000 gallons. It releases microscopic copper and zinc ions into the circulating water, where they help control algae and bacteria between chlorine doses.

What it changes about your pool

An ionizer does not remove the need for a sanitizer, but it lowers what the pool asks for. With mineral ions working continuously, the chlorine, algaecide and other chemicals the water needs drop, and the water tends to stay clearer with less intervention.

The kit

This is the CBI-350B-40-LLKIT package: a digital controller and the mineral cell. The cell uses pure copper and zinc, and the controller sets the output rather than leaving it to guesswork. The unit plumbs into the equipment line and runs with the circulation system.

If your pool is smaller, the same system is made in a 25,000 gallon size.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What size pool is this for?
Up to 40,000 gallons. A 25,000 gallon version of the Mineral Lion is sold separately.
Does it replace chlorine completely?
No. It is a mineral ionizer that works alongside a sanitizer. The mineral ions help control algae and bacteria so the pool needs less chlorine and algaecide, but a residual sanitizer is still part of the program.
What is in the box?
The Mineral Lion package includes the digital controller and the mineral cell.
What are the minerals?
Copper and zinc. The cell uses the purest copper and zinc so the ions going into the water are clean.
