The Paramount Ultra UV2 is an ultraviolet water sanitizer for swimming pools, part 004422202100. This is the single lamp model, 120V, rated for flow up to 52 gallons per minute.
How it works
Pool water circulates through the Ultra UV2 chamber and passes a UV-C lamp. The lamp inactivates 99.9 percent of the micro-organisms in the stream, including crypto, giardia and algae, which are the organisms chlorine struggles with. Nothing is added to the water, so there are no harmful by-products from the process.
What it changes on your pool
UV works alongside chlorine rather than instead of it. Because the lamp is doing much of the killing as water passes, the amount of chlorine needed to hold an adequate residual drops substantially. That means less chemical handling, and water that is easier on eyes and skin.
Where it goes
The Ultra UV2 is built for new builds and for retrofits onto an existing equipment pad, so an established pool can be converted without rebuilding the plumbing around it.
