The Hayward SPX1096A2 is the plastic basket support ring for SP1090 and SP1092 skimmers. It is the genuine Hayward part.
Why the ring matters
The support ring sits in the skimmer throat and holds the basket at the height it is meant to sit. Get that wrong and water finds its way around the basket instead of through it, so leaves and grit head straight for the pump strainer. The ring is a small piece of plastic doing a job that the whole skimmer depends on.
Fitting
It drops into the skimmer, so replacing it is a two minute job with no tools and nothing to unplumb. The basket itself is a separate Hayward part if yours is also cracked.
