Product details

The Poolstyle PS016B is a replacement skimmer basket for above ground pools. It measures 6-1/2 inches across the top outside diameter, 3-7/8 inches across the bottom outside diameter, and 2-7/8 inches tall.

Check the fit

Skimmer baskets are not interchangeable by eye. The basket tapers from top to bottom, so the throat diameter, the base diameter and the depth all have to line up with your skimmer body. Measure all three before ordering rather than matching on appearance.

Why it matters

The skimmer basket is the first thing standing between fallen leaves and the pump. Once it cracks or the rim breaks, debris passes straight through to the pump strainer and the flow drops off. A basket is inexpensive next to a pump repair, so it is worth replacing at the first split.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What are the dimensions?
Top outside diameter 6-1/2 inch, bottom outside diameter 3-7/8 inch, height 2-7/8 inch.
Will it fit my skimmer?
Measure the throat of your skimmer and the depth of the well, then compare against those three figures. The basket tapers, so both diameters matter.
Is this for above ground or in ground pools?
Above ground.
Why does the basket need replacing?
Baskets go brittle with sun and chemical exposure and crack. A split basket lets leaves through to the pump strainer and, eventually, to the impeller.
