The SuperPro FC-9450 is the partial size vertical DE filter grid for 60 sq ft filters, measuring 9-3/4 inches by 30 inches. It is sold individually.
Why a set has a narrow grid in it
DE grid packs are built from full width elements plus one narrower partial grid. The partial is what lets the pack close up neatly inside a round tank. It is the same 30 inch height as the full grids but narrower, and the two are not interchangeable, so ordering the wrong one leaves you with a pack that will not seat.
When to replace
The grid fabric is what holds the DE coat that does the actual filtering. When it tears, thins or goes hard with age, the coat cannot hold and powder blows back through the returns after a recharge while the water stays cloudy.
Take the pack out and inspect every element rather than assuming the visible one is the only failure. Seams and top edges are where tears usually start.
