Product details

Hayward ECX1031PAK5 is a five pack of flex-tube assemblies for the Perflex EC65 extended-cycle DE filter. Each tube measures 13-3/8 inches.

What the flex tubes do

A Perflex filter works by holding a coating of diatomaceous earth on a nest of flexible tubes. The DE does the filtering, the tubes give it something to hold onto, and the bump handle shakes the coating loose and redistributes it. Once a tube splits or the fabric goes slack, water takes the easy path through the gap and dirt goes back to the pool.

Buying in fives

Tubes in a nest see the same water and the same bump cycles, so they tend to fail in groups rather than one at a time. The five pack is the practical way to refresh a section of the nest in a single order.
