Hayward Nylon Spring Washer Set SPX0710Z62

The Hayward SPX0710Z62 is a pack of two nylon washers that seat the metal spring inside a Hayward multiport valve. It is a small part, but the spring cannot load correctly without it, so it belongs in any Vari-Flo rebuild.

Metal to nylon

This part used to be metal. Hayward changed the design, and the SPX0710Z62 now ships as nylon. If you are matching a metal washer pulled from an older valve, this is still the correct replacement.

Where it fits

It is used across the Vari-Flo line: the 1.5 in. top mount SP0710X, SP0711 and SP0712 valves, the SP0714T Vari-Flo XL, and the 2 in. side mount SP0715 and SP0716. It is also listed for the SP0704 four position valve and the SP0740DE 2 in. Selecta-Flo DE valve, which puts it on most Hayward Pro Series and SandMaster sand filters.

While the valve is apart, check the spring (HAY-061-2092) and the shaft seal o-ring assembly (HAY-061-2171). A stiff handle or a weep at the stem usually means all three are due.
