Product details

The Hayward CX1200B is the filter head for the Star Clear Plus C1200 cartridge filter. It is the genuine OEM part, and most units have C-1200B molded on the inside of the top.

What is on it

An air relief vent valve for bleeding trapped air from the tank, and a threaded hole for a pressure gauge so you can watch filter pressure and know when to clean the cartridge. The head is 12-3/4 in. tall with a 1 in. inside diameter hole at the top.

Color

Hayward has moved production of this head from tan to black. The part you receive may be black even if your existing tank is tan; the fit and function are unchanged.

Not included

The pressure gauge, the head o-ring and the locking knob are separate parts.

Will it fit my C900 or C1750?
No. This head is for the C1200. The other Star Clear Plus sizes use their own filter heads.
Is the pressure gauge included?
No. The head has the threaded port for a gauge, but the gauge itself is a separate part. Your existing gauge will screw into the new head.
Does it come with the lid o-ring and locking knob?
No. The o-ring and knob are separate parts. Inspect the o-ring when you swap the head and replace it if it is worn.
Will it match my tan filter?
Probably not. Hayward now produces this head in black, and what you receive may be black even if your tank is tan. It fits and seals the same.
