The Hayward CX5030C is the genuine top manifold for SwimClear C5030 and C7030 cartridge filters, and it is also listed for the HCF7030C HCF Series filter.
What it does inside the tank
The cartridge elements stand upright in the tank and the top manifold caps them. It keeps the elements aligned and sealed at the top, and it gathers the filtered water and carries it toward the outlet. Everything the filter does depends on water having no way around the elements, and the manifold is half of that seal.
When to replace it
Look at the manifold whenever a filter has stopped polishing the water and fresh cartridges did not fix it. A crack, a warped seat or a broken port lets unfiltered water bypass the elements, which shows up as poor clarity and odd pressure readings rather than as an obvious leak.
Check the model on your filter before you order. The C2030, C3030 and C4030 take a different Hayward manifold.
