Product details

Hayward CX5000Z3 is the air relief tube for the C5020 and C5025 cartridge filters in the SwimClear and Super Star Clear ranges. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What it does

Air collects at the top of a filter tank every time the system is opened or loses prime. The relief tube is what gives that air a path from inside the tank to the relief valve on the lid, so it can be bled off before the pump is restarted. A tank that will not bleed properly is slow to prime and runs at poor flow.

When to change it

Replace it if it is cracked, broken or missing. Because it sits inside the tank head, the sensible time to fit a new one is while the filter is already open for a cartridge change rather than opening the tank a second time later.
