The Hayward CX3030F is the inlet elbow for SwimClear cartridge filters, covering the C2030, C3030, C4030, C5030 and C7030.

The date matters more than the model

Hayward changed the SwimClear internals in September 2012. This elbow fits filters manufactured after that change. The model numbers themselves span both versions, so read the build date on the filter data plate before you order rather than going by the model alone.

What it does

The inlet elbow directs water arriving from the pump into the filter body. A cracked or broken elbow lets flow bypass the path it should take through the cartridges, so the filter works harder for a worse result.
