Product details

The Hayward CX3020FB is the outlet elbow for the SwimClear cartridge filter range. It is the fitting that takes filtered water out of the tank and back toward the returns, and it is the genuine Hayward part.

When it needs replacing

Almost always a leak. A hairline crack at the elbow body, a chewed sealing face, or threads that no longer pull up tight will all show as water at the outlet side of the filter under pump pressure. Once an elbow is cracked it does not come back with sealant.

Fitment, and why to check the diagram

CX3020FB is listed for the SwimClear C2020, C2025, C3020, C3025, C4020, C4025, C5020 and C5025. Other sources on the same part also reference the C5520, the C7000 and the C2030 through C7030 tanks. We have carried both lists rather than choosing between them, so if you are on one of those larger or newer tanks, confirm against the parts diagram for your filter.

While you are in there

The bulkhead o-ring and the 2-1/2 in. o-ring are separate parts. Both are cheap, both are already disturbed by the job, and neither is worth a second teardown.

Which SwimClear filters does this elbow fit?
It is listed for the C2020, C2025, C3020, C3025, C4020, C4025, C5020 and C5025. Our sources also reference the C5520, the C7000 and the C2030 through C7030 series, so check your own parts diagram if you have one of those.
Why do the fitment lists differ?
The product category and the parts diagrams do not name exactly the same tanks. We have carried both rather than picking one, so match the elbow against the diagram for your filter before ordering.
Do the o-rings come with it?
No. The SwimClear bulkhead o-ring and the 2-1/2 in. o-ring are separate part numbers, and both are worth replacing while the elbow is off.
