CX3020DA is the Hayward top closure plate for the C3020 and C4020 cartridge filters. It is the genuine Hayward part, the same plate the filter was built with.
What it does
The closure plate caps the cartridge assembly inside the tank. It has to sit flat and seal so that every drop of water leaving the filter has passed through an element. A plate that has cracked, split or warped lets water take the short route around the cartridges, which shows up as a pool that will not clear no matter how clean the elements are.
Ordering
This listing is the closure plate alone. Cartridges, o-rings and clamp hardware are separate parts, so if the filter is coming apart anyway it is worth pricing those at the same time.
