The Hayward DEX2421J2 is the clamp bolt and nut used on SwimClear cartridge filters and Pro-Grid DE filters. It is the genuine Hayward hardware, supplied as the bolt and its nut together.
Why this small part matters
The band clamp around a filter tank only holds pressure because this bolt can still be drawn up tight. Bolts in a wet equipment pad corrode, stretch and round off at the head, and once that happens the clamp cannot be torqued evenly. Owners usually notice it as a slow weep at the tank split, or as a bolt that will not come loose at teardown.
