The Hayward DEX2420Z8A is the air relief o-ring kit, supplied as a set of two. It is used on the SwimClear cartridge filters and the Pro-Grid DE filters.
The symptom
Water weeping or spraying from the air relief on top of the filter while the pump runs. Almost every time, the cause is an o-ring that has hardened, flattened or split rather than a failed valve body. Replacing the o-rings is the cheap first move.
Fitting
The kit covers both o-rings in the relief assembly, so there is no reason to reuse a tired one alongside a new one. It is a natural job to fold into a filter cleaning, since the filter is already open and depressurized.
