Product details

The Hayward DEX2400S is the air relief and gauge adapter assembly that sits on top of the filter. It does two jobs: it vents air trapped in the tank, and it provides the port the pressure gauge threads into.

Why the bleed matters

Air works its way into the tank whenever the system is opened, and it collects at the top where it cushions the water. That air throws off the pressure reading you use to decide when to clean, and it puts an unnecessary load on the lid and clamp. Opening the relief while the pump starts pushes it out, and once water appears the valve is closed.
