Product details

The Hayward CCX1000Z5 is the genuine air relief o-ring set, supplied as two o-rings. It is listed across the SwimClear and XStream cartridge filter families and the Pro-Grid DE filters.

The usual reason people order it

An air relief valve that weeps or will not hold once the pump starts is nearly always down to the o-rings rather than the valve itself. They harden, take a set, or pick up a nick when the valve is removed, and no amount of tightening will seal a flattened o-ring. Fitting a fresh set is the low cost fix that ends a wet filter head.

Fitting them

Wipe the groove clean before the new o-ring goes in, and use a thin film of silicone o-ring lubricant rather than a petroleum based grease. The lubricant helps the seal seat evenly and makes the next removal much easier.
