Product details

The Aladdin B-32 is the replacement skimmer basket for American Stubby skimmers. It measures 8-7/16 inch across the top, 7-1/2 inch across the bottom and 4 inches tall.

Check the three numbers

Skimmer baskets look alike and buying by eye is how people end up with one that rocks in the throat or will not seat under the lid. Pull the old basket and measure the top outside diameter, the bottom outside diameter and the height. If you get 8-7/16, 7-1/2 and 4, this is the part.

Why it matters

The skimmer basket is the first thing between the pool and the pump. When it splits or a lug breaks and the basket sits crooked, leaves and grit ride past it, fill the pump strainer and eventually reach the impeller. A basket is the cheapest part in the system and the one that protects the most expensive.

How do I know this is the right basket?
Measure the one you have. This basket is 8-7/16 inch across the top, 7-1/2 inch across the bottom and 4 inches tall. If those match, it is the right one.
Is this an original American part?
It is an Aladdin Equipment Company replacement, part number B-32, built to fit the American Stubby skimmer.
Can I run the pool without a skimmer basket?
You can, but you should not. Without the basket, leaves and grit go straight down the line to the pump strainer and then the impeller.
Why is my basket cracking?
Baskets go brittle over years of sun and chlorine, and cold weather finishes them. A basket with a split rim or a broken lug is done and should be swapped.
