Product details

The SuperPro O-176A-9 is a five spoke spider gasket for the Hayward 1-1/2 in. Vari-Flo multiport valve. It is an aftermarket replacement for Hayward part SPX0710XD and fits the SP0710X, SP0711 and SP0712 valves.

Dimensions

Outside diameter is 5-5/16 in. and the center hole is 3/4 in. If your valve is the 2 in. Vari-Flo, it takes a larger 6-1/2 in. gasket instead, so measure before ordering.

The spider gasket is what seals the diverter against each port. When it hardens or lifts out of its groove, water bypasses to the waste line during filtering and the pool loses water. Replacing it restores the seal and is the usual first fix for a Vari-Flo valve that will not hold position cleanly.

Which valve does this fit?
The Hayward 1-1/2 in. Vari-Flo top mount multiport valve, models SP0710X, SP0711 and SP0712. It is a replacement for Hayward gasket SPX0710XD.
How do I confirm the size?
Measure the old gasket. This one is 5-5/16 in. across the outside with a 3/4 in. center hole and five spokes. The 2 in. Vari-Flo valve uses a larger 6-1/2 in. gasket.
Is this the Hayward part?
No. It is a SuperPro aftermarket gasket made to replace the Hayward SPX0710XD.
What are the signs my spider gasket is worn?
Water running out the waste line while the valve is in Filter, or the handle feeling loose between positions. Both point to the gasket no longer sealing against the diverter.
