Product details

This is the SuperPro generic tank o-ring, part O-497-9, measuring 20-7/8 inches inside diameter with a 7/16 inch cross section. It is a third party version of the Pentair Pool Products 39010200 tank o-ring.

Where it goes

This is the main body seal, the large o-ring that sits between the two halves of the filter tank and is compressed by the clamp band. It fits the Titan RPM and FNS Plus filters, and the same size covers Quad series tanks.

When to replace it

Any time the filter is opened. A tank o-ring that has spent a season squeezed under a clamp band takes a permanent set, and once flattened it will not reliably reseal against the same faces. Reusing one is the most common reason a filter that was fine before service starts weeping at the band afterwards.

Fitting

Clean both sealing faces before assembly and use a silicone based o-ring lubricant, never a petroleum grease. The lubricant helps the o-ring seat evenly as the clamp comes down and makes the tank far easier to open at the next service.

No. It is a SuperPro generic version of the Pentair 39010200 tank o-ring. An OEM equivalent is listed separately if you prefer the factory part.
