Product details

This is the SuperPro generic tank o-ring for Sta-Rite PLM filters built after February 1997. It is the seal that sits between the two halves of the filter tank, listed at a 15-1/4 inch inside diameter with a 3/8 inch cross section.

Matching the number

Our record carries the Sta-Rite equivalent two ways. The product summary calls it 27001-0061 and the substitute part number field lists 27001-0061S. Likewise the SuperPro number appears both as O-484-9 and, in shorter form, as O-484. Compare the number on your filter documentation against all of these rather than assuming one is a typo.

Before you fit it

Confirm the build date of the tank, because PLM filters made before 2/97 use a different ring and the two will not swap. When you assemble, wipe the groove clean and put a light smear of silicone lubricant on the o-ring. It seats properly, it is less likely to roll out of the groove as the clamp comes down, and it will come apart cleanly the next time the filter is opened.

Generic or genuine

This is the aftermarket SuperPro ring. If you would rather fit the factory part, the genuine Sta-Rite tank o-ring for the same after 2/97 application is stocked on its own.
