The SuperPro GO-KIT70 is a rebuild kit for Pentair, formerly Pac-Fab, 2 in. multiport valves, models 261055 and SM-20. It is a generic kit built to fit the valve rather than an OEM assembly.
What is in the kit
One G-160 sight glass gasket, one G-417 diverter spider gasket, two O-83 valve adapter o-rings, one O-160 valve adapter o-ring, two O-276 shaft seal o-rings, one O-284 body o-ring and one O-479 valve top o-ring.
Why valves get rebuilt
The spider gasket is the usual culprit. When it hardens or tears, water bypasses the diverter and runs out the waste line even with the handle set to filter, which reads at the pool as a level that keeps dropping. Shaft seal o-rings weeping at the stem and a drip at the sight glass are the other two common complaints, and this kit covers all of them in one teardown.
Doing the job
Since the valve has to come apart anyway, replace every seal in the kit rather than only the one that failed. The rest are the same age.
