Product details

The Jandy R0487000 is the gray replacement knob for Jandy 2-way and 3-way valves. It is the genuine part, and the same knob serves both valve bodies.

Knob only

What you are ordering is the handle you turn. The valve body, the diverter plate inside it and the seals are all separate parts, so if the valve itself is leaking past, this is not the fix.

Why handles break

The knob is the one part of the valve that lives in full sun and takes every bit of force applied to the valve. Over years the plastic goes brittle, and eventually a normal turn snaps it. That is often the valve telling you something: when the diverter underneath stiffens with age or scale, the handle becomes the weak point and gives way first.

Free the valve before fitting a new one

If the old knob broke while the valve was hard to turn, work the diverter loose first. Fitting a fresh knob to a seized valve just means breaking a second knob.

Does this fit both 2-way and 3-way valves?
Yes. Jandy lists R0487000 as the knob for both.
What comes in the box?
The knob alone. The valve body, the diverter and the seals are separate parts.
My knob keeps breaking. Why?
Usually because the diverter underneath has stiffened up. The handle is the weakest link, so it gives way rather than the valve. Free the valve up before fitting a new knob or you will break that one as well.
