The Jandy 4944 is a NeverLube 3 port diverter valve in the 2-1/2 in. by 2 in. size. It is the genuine Jandy part.

What a 3 port valve does

A diverter valve takes one line in and sends it out to either of two, or splits the flow between them. On a pool and spa system that is how suction is switched between the pool and the spa, or how returns are directed. One handle does the work, and the valve holds its position.

NeverLube

Older diverter valves had to be taken apart and greased on a schedule, and a valve that was forgotten got stiff or started to weep. The NeverLube design removes that job, which is worth having on a pad that is buried behind equipment or hard to reach.

This listing is the 2-1/2 in. by 2 in. valve. Check the pipe on your system before ordering, because Jandy makes the same valve in other port sizes and they are not interchangeable.
