Product details

The Praher OV3-1500U is a 1-1/2 inch three port valve supplied with unions. It is a diverter, so the handle decides where the water goes.

How it is used

Three port valves are the workhorses of a pool pad. They select between pool and spa, choose which suction line is feeding the pump, or open a bypass around a heater. One port is the common connection and the other two are the destinations, and mid positions split the flow between them.

Why the union version

Unions are worth having. A valve glued straight into the pipe has to be cut out when it eventually wears, taking the surrounding plumbing with it. This one unthreads at the unions, so a future swap is a short job rather than a rebuild.
