Product details
The Jandy 7235 is a two way check valve with 1-1/2 inch internal and 2 inch external ports, which is why one part covers both of the common pool plumbing sizes. It is the genuine Jandy valve.
What it does
A check valve lets water move one way and blocks it the other. On a pool that means holding prime in the pump when the system shuts down, keeping water from running back out of a raised heater, and stopping a chlorinator or solar line from draining into the pool the moment the pump stops. It works quietly and you only notice it once it fails.
Fitting and sizing
Jandy lists this one under its spring check valve family. Size it by the pipe you are cutting into: the internal port takes 1-1/2 inch and the external port takes 2 inch. If your run is larger, Jandy makes matching valves in 2 inch / 2-1/2 inch and 2-1/2 inch / 3 inch, along with 90 degree versions when there is no room for a straight section.
