Product details

The Jandy 7305 is a spring loaded check valve with 2 in. internal and 2-1/2 in. external ports. That dual size port means one valve fits either pipe size: 2 in. pipe glues inside the port, 2-1/2 in. pipe glues over the outside.

Why a spring check valve

Water flows through in one direction. The moment the pump stops, the spring closes the valve so nothing drains back. That protects a heater from thermal siphoning, keeps solar panels from emptying into the pool, and stops chlorinated water from running back toward the equipment.

It is the genuine Jandy part. Replacement internal kits are available separately, and Jandy makes the same valve in 1-1/2 in. / 2 in. and 2-1/2 in. / 3 in. sizes if your plumbing calls for one of those.

Which pipe size does it fit?
Both 2 in. and 2-1/2 in. Each port accepts 2 in. pipe on the inside and 2-1/2 in. pipe on the outside, so one valve covers either plumbing size.
What does a spring check valve do?
It lets water flow in one direction and closes under spring pressure the moment flow stops. That keeps water from draining back through a heater, solar loop or chlorinator when the pump turns off.
Is the 7305 the same as the 7307?
No. The 7307 is the 2-1/2 in. by 3 in. version. The 7305 is 2 in. by 2-1/2 in. There is also a smaller 1-1/2 in. by 2 in. valve.
Can it be rebuilt?
Replacement internal kits are sold separately, so a worn flapper or o-ring can be changed without cutting the body out of the plumbing.
