Product details
The Hayward PSV3SDGR is a 3-way diverter valve from the PSV Series, built in PVC with 1-1/2 in by 2 in ports. Hayward designs the PSV check valves and 2-way and 3-way diverters to keep flow management simple and maintenance free.
What a 3-way does
Three ports mean one common connection and two branches, so the valve can send everything down one line, everything down the other, or split it between the two. That covers pool and spa switching, a solar bypass, and any waterfall or feature line that is not running all the time.
Sizing
The sockets accept 1-1/2 in or 2 in pipe, which covers most residential equipment pads. For larger plumbing, Hayward lists the same 3-way valve in a 2 in by 2-1/2 in body under its own part number, and a CPVC version is also available.
