The Jandy 3407 is a Space Saver two port valve with a positive seal. It exists for one reason: equipment pads that were plumbed tight, where a full size valve body simply does not fit in the run available.

Two port, not a diverter

A two port valve opens and closes a single path. That makes it the right choice for isolating a leg of plumbing, a return, a spa feed or a solar line, so it can be shut off without draining the system. A three port diverter, by contrast, splits flow between two destinations.
