Why the handle is the part that fails
Everything you do to a diverter valve happens through the handle, and it is the weakest link in the assembly by design. Over time the internals stiffen, someone applies more force, and the handle either cracks at the hub or rounds out where it grips the stem. The valve underneath is usually fine. What is gone is your ability to move it and to know where it is set.
What is included
This is the handle on its own. The Neverlube valve knob and the valve shaft o-ring are separate parts, so add them if yours are damaged as well.
Before you refit
The handle sits on the valve cover and comes off without opening the plumbing. If the new handle takes real force to turn once fitted, stop and service the valve. Forcing a stiff valve is what broke the last handle and it will break this one too.
