Product details

Jandy R0487100 is the O-ring that seals the valve shaft, listed under the O-ring size O-158. It measures 15/16 in. across the outside, 3/4 in. across the inside, and 3/32 in. thick.

The leak it fixes

Water appearing around the valve handle almost always means the shaft O-ring has hardened, flattened or torn. The valve body itself is rarely the problem. Swapping this one seal is what puts the valve right, and it takes a few minutes with the pump off and the system drained down.

Before you order

Confirm the dimensions against the ring you remove. If the old seal has gone brittle it may come out in pieces, so measure the groove rather than the fragments.
