The Jandy 3045 is the Pro Series diverter assembly with knob, built with a non-positive seal, for Jandy 2 way and 3 way valves.

What the diverter is

Inside every Jandy diverter valve is a plate on a shaft that swings between the ports and sends water one way or the other. That plate, its shaft, its seals and the knob on top make up the diverter assembly. The valve body itself is glued into the plumbing and rarely fails, so almost every diverter valve complaint is really about the assembly that turns inside it.

Non-positive versus positive

This is the non-positive seal version, which allows a small amount of flow past the closed side rather than shutting a port dead tight. Jandy builds a positive seal diverter as well for applications that need a hard shut off, and the two are not swaps for each other, so check which one came out of your valve.

Why rebuild

A diverter that has gone stiff, started weeping around the shaft, or spins without moving the plate is a repair you can do without touching a pipe. Replacing the assembly costs a fraction of the disruption of cutting a valve body out of a working plumbing run.

What is a non-positive seal diverter?
It is the style that does not seal a port completely shut. A little water can still pass the closed side, which is intentional on many circulation valves.
Does it come with the knob?
Yes. The 3045 is the diverter assembly complete with its knob.
Will it fit a 2 way or a 3 way valve?
Both. Jandy uses this diverter assembly in its 2 way and 3 way valve bodies.
How do I know I need this rather than a whole new valve?
If the body is sound and the plumbing is not leaking, a diverter that is stiff, worn, leaking past the shaft or turning without moving the plate is fixed by replacing the diverter assembly alone.
