The Hayward PSXVCA is the handle and index kit for PSV model diverter valves. It is a new OEM Hayward part, covering both the handle itself and the index that shows valve position.
What fails and why
Valve handles live in full sun and take real force every time somebody switches between skimmer and main drain, or moves a return. Over years the plastic goes brittle and cracks where it clamps to the stem, and the printed index wears away long before that. Neither failure stops the valve working, but a valve with a loose handle and no readable index is one that gets turned to the wrong position sooner or later.
Scope of the kit
This is the handle and index. The valve key assembly is sold separately, so if the internal diverter is what is worn, that is a different part.
