Product details

The Hayward PSXVCA is the handle and index kit for PSV model diverter valves. It is a new OEM Hayward part, covering both the handle itself and the index that shows valve position.

What fails and why

Valve handles live in full sun and take real force every time somebody switches between skimmer and main drain, or moves a return. Over years the plastic goes brittle and cracks where it clamps to the stem, and the printed index wears away long before that. Neither failure stops the valve working, but a valve with a loose handle and no readable index is one that gets turned to the wrong position sooner or later.

Scope of the kit

This is the handle and index. The valve key assembly is sold separately, so if the internal diverter is what is worn, that is a different part.

Which valves does this fit?
Hayward PSV model valves. It is the OEM handle and index kit for that series, part PSXVCA.
What is the index?
The index is the marked ring that shows what position the valve is in. Once it is faded or broken, there is no reliable way to read which port the diverter is feeding.
Do I need to replace the whole valve?
Not if the body and the diverter inside are sound. A cracked handle or an unreadable index is a handle kit job, not a valve replacement.
Is the valve key included?
No. The valve key assembly is a separate Hayward part. This kit covers the handle and the index.
