The Hayward SPX0410BK is a piston with pin made for the Hayward SP0410X series slide valve, finished in black.

What it does

In a slide valve, the piston is the part that moves inside the valve body to open and close the flow path, and the pin connects the piston to the valve handle or actuator so it can be moved. This piston is the part most likely to wear from repeated movement and contact with pool water, since it slides against the valve body every time the valve is operated.
