Product details

The SuperPro O-231V-9 is a replacement lid o-ring listed for CLX200K. It is a small part with an outsized job: holding a watertight seal at the lid every time the system runs.

What a failing lid o-ring looks like

Water weeping from the lid seam is the obvious sign. The less obvious one is a system that loses prime or draws air, because on the suction side a tired o-ring lets air in long before it lets water out. Pull the ring and look for flat spots, hairline cracks or a rubber that has gone stiff.

Fitting it

Clean the groove and the sealing face before the new ring goes in, then wipe the o-ring with a thin film of pool grade silicone lubricant. That helps it seat evenly and keeps it from sticking to the lid the next time it comes off. Do not use petroleum based grease, which breaks rubber down.
