Product details

The Hayward ECX1642A is the filter tank bolt set: the head bolt, the nut and the washer that clamp a filter head down onto the tank.

Why hardware fails first

Filter bolts sit in the wettest, most chemical heavy corner of the equipment pad, and they are the parts that get worked every time a filter is opened. They corrode, they gall, and eventually a nut rounds off or a bolt snaps while it is being torqued. When that happens the filter cannot be closed properly, and no gasket will hold pressure without even clamping force.

Fitting

Replace the bolt, nut and washer together rather than reusing an old nut on a new bolt. One set covers one bolt position, so count the positions on your filter and order accordingly.
